Falling from the ranks of the undefeated can turn out to be a fighter’s biggest blessing when they end up on the UFC roster. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a show-me reaper of defining silence ready to put UFC featherweights to the torch with a single ignition. A professional mixed martial artist since February 2019 and representing Glory MMA and Fitness, David Onama owns a 9-1 record through 10 professional bouts comprised of six knockouts and three submissions. Onama fought for several regional promotions including Fighting Alliance Championship prior to debuting with the UFC at UFC On ESPN Plus 54 in October 2021. He is currently 1-1 under the UFC banner, with one finish under his belt for the promotion. Onama has finished all nine of his victories during his time in the professional ranks. 100 percent of his finishes during his career as a pro-MMA fighter thus far have come inside the distance.

In his MMA debut at KCFA 32, he faced Fransisco Pintos and went on to defeat him via TKO in the second round. Onama also defeated his next two opponents in Sam Fernandez and Raymond Bighead. Then at FAC 2, he defeated Antonio Castillo via TKO in round one. Onama defeated Sam Agushi via TKO in the first round at FAC 3. At FAC 4, he submitted Justin Overton in round three. Onama defeated Mike Plazola via TKO in the first round in the main event of FAC 7. In the main event of FAC 10, he knocked out Brad Robison in round one.

In his second appearance with the UFC at UFC On ESPN Plus 59, he knocked out Gabriel Benitez in the first round. The victory earned Onama the sixth knockout win of his professional career. He also picked up his first UFC win in the process. With a nine for nine finish rate, this cannonball packs plenty of powerful boom!
