Interview with Josh Leet at Contenders 32

Josh Leet vs James Bawden had everything you’d want or need from a main card bout. A roaring crowd, the floor shaking from beneath your feet and an unadulterated display of technicality. This welterweight bout will be one fight fans will not soon forget. Leet came out victorious via TK0 at Contenders 32 on the Norwich based organisation’s return to London.

I had the opportunity to speak with Josh after taking himself to 4-0 in his professional journey.

Congratulations on your victory Josh, that was absolutely phenomenal display.

“Thank you mate, it was tough out there. But I knew what I had to do and had to keep going to get the job done.”

You were dominant throughout both rounds, even though the crowd was putting you under a little pressure. How did this make you feel?

“It definitely stirred me on, he’s an explosive guy, I’ve got a lot of respect for him. He’s strong, he nearly caught me but I stayed adamant not to go on my back. In training I’m always very top-heavy, that was my  main focus in this one.”

Congratulations again on a great performance. Before you go and celebrate with your team is there anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

Thank you, I’d just like to shout-out to all the lads that came, The badger boys, well done on a big season, won the season today. My brother, my family and everybody that came out to see me tonight.”

Keep an eye out for Jose’s return. He has definitely made his mark in the Welterweight Division, could we be seeing a future Contenders Welterweight challenger? Only time will tell.
