I’d like to start this off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me today Paul, I hope training camp has been going well in the build-up to your highly anticipated return to London?

“Yeah, training camp has been going really well. Fully motivated and ready to go.”

From what I’ve seen of you on social media, you’ve been touring some of the UK’s finest gyms. Without a doubt gaining a vast amount of knowledge to add to your already explosive arsenal. Could you elaborate on this decision? The readers would be very interested in knowing the details behind your tour.

“I’ve always trained at various different gyms. Depending on the opponent I have. I like to be in different training environments, which keeps my game evolving.”

Fight fans have had the pleasure of witnessing you in action over the course of 58 bouts stretching back to 2003. An illustrious career has seen you face off against some of the best fighters the MMA world has ever seen. What one of these phenomenal appearances in the cage stands out the most for you?

“I’ve got a few, Obviously after so many years. But the 2 that come to mind first are my victory over Mark Wier and then the spectacular knockout of Brennan Ward.”

At Bellator 281 you make the journey back to home soil, taking on Andrey Koreshkov. Both of you have given Bellator so much over your careers, this seems like a perfect match up for both fans and the franchise. Fighting alongside each other with Bellator for the past 7 years must have given you a chance to study Andrey in the build-up of Bellator’s return to the capital. What do you make of Andrey?

“He’s a great fighter and former champion.”

As previously announced on The MMA Hour, this will be your last bout on what’s been one of the most explosive careers the world has ever had the privilege of witnessing. What does it mean to you to be able to do this back home?

“I wouldn’t retire from the sport of MMA without my UK fans being able to watch, Live in attendance and a Wembley arena is the perfect venue.”

Scott Coker has once again lined up an explosive night for the fans at Wembley Stadium. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing on May 13th?

Machida vs Edwards will be a very interesting fight.”

It was an absolute pleasure speaking with you today Paul. I wish you all the best for your return to London and your future endeavours.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“Much appreciated. Massive thanks to sponsors icash cars and to everyone who’s supported and helped me over the years. Far too many to mention.”
