Cage Warriors is pleased to announce the addition of seven more athletes to its stable of exclusive talent on multi-fight deals.
Among this latest batch of arrivals is veteran welterweight Jimmy Wallhead, a pioneer for mixed martial arts in the UK and one of the most decorated fighters ever to compete for Cage Warriors.
Wallhead (31-11) returns to CW for the first time since November 2014, when he enjoyed a resounding KO win against Juan Manuel Suarez in Newcastle, England.
The first-round triumph marked his 16th professional outing under the umbrella of an organisation with whom he made his debut back in April 2005.
After a two-fight stint with the UFC, Wallhead clocked up back-to-back victories with Bellator in 2019. He’ll aim to extend his win streak to three when he returns to the yellow gloves this summer.
The 38-year-old Englishman is on the cusp of making Cage Warriors history. Currently one fight shy of Jack Mason’s record of 17 pro MMA bouts for CW, Wallhead now has an opportunity surpass that tally.
“I’m super happy to return to Europe’s number one promotion and put myself in the mix with the top boys,” he said. “There’s still plenty of fight left in this old dog. I’m buzzing to be back.”
Joining Wallhead on the Cage Warriors roster are his compatriots Jake Constantinou (welterweight), Marcus Mee (welterweight), Liam Molloy (featherweight) and James Power (lightweight). The flyweight division has also been bolstered by Italy’s Michelangelo Lupoli and Benoit Blanc of France.
Meanwhile, middleweight contender Will Currie has extended his term with Cage Warriors by signing a new contract.
