Kiarash Majidi – “It’s going to be explosive”

Kiaresh Majidi 0-1-0 is an Iranian amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Heavyweight division, representing Novo. He has competed for Road to Victory and is due to make his debut for Road to Contenders on June 25th.

I’d like to kick things off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me today Kiarash, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming inclusion in the Road to Contenders 5 Card.

I hope training camp has been going well in the build-up to your highly anticipated trip to the Contenders cage?

“Training has been going really well thanks. Feeling good. Best shape I’ve been in.”

Contenders pride themselves on giving the fans a night of pure unadulterated organised violence and June 25th is no exception.

When receiving the call to fight in Crystal Palace, was this an opportunity that you just couldn’t refuse?

“Easy decision really. It’s a huge show. I’ve been to a couple already. I wanted to be involved each time.”

Looking forward, with so many fine additions being made to the roster at Contenders LTD and countless possibilities for opponents. Would this be a place you’d like to call home as you continue along your journey?

“100%. I need to put on a show, get my hand raised and earn it.”

As well as an action-packed night, a vast array of warriors such as yourself are carefully chosen to take part to make sure the card is full of talent the fans haven’t had the opportunity to see in action before.

To give some insight into what you’ll be bringing to the table come June 25th. What first attracted you to enter the Mixed Martial Arts world?

“I’ll be totally honest, I just like fighting. I always knew I wanted to grapple and that’s where it started. Then I met my MMA coach Steve and we’ve been working together ever since.”

The contract has been signed, this barn burner of a Heavyweight showdown will see you take on Manik Paul as the date draws near and you put final preparations into your training camp. Have you had the time to look into Manik, what do you make of your opponent in London?

“I don’t know much about him. He’s a big guy and seems very game. It’s going to be explosive.”

Fight fans will be counting the days to bear witness to many phenomenal athletes in action for Road to Contenders 5. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“Looks like a stacked card. I always keep an eye out for Iranian MMA fighters. I believe there are 2 others on the show.”

I wish you all the best for the 25th Kiarash and I look forward to witnessing your journey unfold.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I’ve got some making up to do and I’m eager to show what I didn’t in my previous fight. I can’t make any promises apart from I’m coming to get stuck in. As for shout-outs, My teammates at Novo Animals. Big shout out to my coaches and brothers Steven Hill and Alex Salisbury. Always pushing me and sometimes babysitting me, Much love. Last but not least my daughter Simiah, is my number 1 fan. I want to make her proud and give her something to celebrate.”
