Tayler Mills – “He’s got heart for sure.”

Taylor Mills 1-1-0 is an English amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Featherweight division, representing Toukon Academy Norwich and Union Thai. He has solely competed for Norwich based organisation Contenders over his amateur career.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to speak to me today Tayler, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming inclusion in the Road to Contenders 5 card.

“My pleasure mate.”

I hope training has been going well in the build-up to your scheduled return to the cage?

“Training has been going very well, 2x a day 6 days a week. I have the best teammates from Toukon Academy Norwich and Union Thai. Both coaches Simon gooch and Marcos lopes pushing me to my limit.”

Being the place you’ve called home on your amateur journey since back in the latter part of 2021, It must be a great feeling to return to the familiar surroundings of the Contenders cage?

“Yeah, contenders is a brilliant show. I really enjoy fighting there, more than ready to return.”

Previously scheduled to take place at the Epic Studios, it was an unfortunate turn of events for the home of Contenders (The Epic Studios in Norwich) to not play host to the Road to Contenders 5 card.

When hearing the news that the event had been moved to London, what was going through your mind?

“Ermm it was a bit of a sticky one for me, as mentally I was ready for the weight cut on fight week. However, there are positives. It has given me more time to sharpen up on the mistakes I made on 2nd April.”

Your loyal group of followers know exactly what you bring to the table, myself included. for the fans that will have the opportunity to witness you in action for the first time, what can they come to expect from you on June 25th?

“Domination…”

In 2 weeks you take your 3rd walk with the Norwich-based organisation, taking on Alireza Farasti, an opponent you’ll know very well. Both of you shared the same card back in April at Contenders 32, as well as your teammate Fergus being his opponent on the night.

What do you make of Alireza in the build-up to your scheduled meeting at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre?

“He’s got heart for sure, doesn’t take an easy way out.”

Steve Newman and the Contenders team have outdone themselves for this explosive night that’s set to rock Crystal Palace to its very foundations for the next Road to Contenders event. Many gifted amateurs such as yourself as well as explosive professionals will showcase their prolific arsenal in a night London will not soon forget.

Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“The whole card is a good one for sure. No fights in particular.”

I wish you all the best for the 25th Tayler and I hope the rest of your training goes smoothly leading up to your return.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“Thank you, I’d like to thank all of my teammates from both gyms. Lastly my coaches, Marcos lopes, Simon gooch, tony Norman and Callum Meeks.”
