Interview with new CW signing Shirzad Qadrian

Cage Warriors have some new additions this year, to add a different ingredient to many weight divisions and test the roster. One new warrior has stood out for me in Diesel & 10th Planet London’s Shirzad Qadrian. Capturing 2 regional titles in the space of 3 months, Shirzad has his eyes on the ultimate prize with Graham Boylan’s iconic promotion.

I took a trip down to Diesel & 10th Planet London to grab a chat with Shirzad, and find out just what it means to him to be a part of the CW roster.

Shirzad ‘The Lion’ Qadrian 3-0-0 is an Iranian professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Bantamweight division, representing Diesel Gym & 10th Planet London. He has competed for Contenders, Vida Fighting Championships and has recently signed a multi-fight contract with Cage Warriors.

I’d like to kick things off by Thanking you for allowing me to visit you here at Diesel and 10th Planet today Shirzad, and to congratulate you on your recent multi-fight contract with Cage Warriors.

“No worries brother. Thank you, and thank you for coming down.”

My pleasure man.

I hope preparations have been going well as you prepare for the next chapter of your MMA journey?

“Training is going amazing, I’ve been training with some very good guys here. The MMA team, Muay-Thai team and the 10th Planet Jiu-jitsu team. Everything is amazing and I’m ready to smash the next guy.”

As an undefeated fighter, there must have been many offers on the table in regards to showcasing your skill set. Was it a full gone conclusion the monument cw came calling?

“Oh yes, Cage Warriors was the number one target. And inshallah I want to go there to capture both the Bantamweight and Flyweight Championships because I need two belts man.”

You will have quite the collection.

The last year has been a very successful one for yourself, your dedication to your craft has seen you become champion of 2 organisations, Contenders and most recently Vida Fighting Championship.

No doubt, your success was a key factor in alerting the Cage Warriors team. What does it mean to you to have your hard work and dedication rewarded by signing with one of, if not the biggest European stages of them all, Cage Warriors?

“First of all I wanna say hamdullah, I ask for anything and Allah gives me more. When Cage Warriors gave me the contract I was so happy, I’m so close to my dream. I wanna be Cage Warriors and after, inshallah UFC Champion.”

I can see you under the UFC lights one day man, when seeing the post from Cage Warriors i was so happy for you, you really do deserve this amazing opportunity.

What advice would you give to aspiring fighters that look to reach the heights you have in your career?

“My advice is to train everyday, don’t overwork yourself, as recovery is key also. Don’t give up and keep going, your dream will become a reality.”

Sound advice brother.

Your inclusion to the Cage Warriors roster holds many potential opportunities and bouts. Are there any fighters on the roster in particular that you would like to collide with?

“Everyone, I wanna smash everybody. Nobody is safe brother, I wanna kill everybody and that is my plan.”

Determined as always mate, I love your enthusiasm.

For the CW fans that might not have had the opportunity to catch you out there, what can they come to expect from you when you take your 1st walk to the cage?

“I have a big surprise for everyone in my fight. I don’t wanna say too much, but for my 1st Cage Warriors fight, that will be a good fight.”

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for your 1st bout announcement man, and I’ll do everything I can to be there.

It’s been a pleasure as always speaking with you again today Shirzad, I wish you all the best for your continued training and I’ll be looking out for your 1st announcement with CW.

“Thank you so much. As I said, thank you so much for coming here to speak to me, it’s so nice to see you again brother.”

Anytime man, it’s always good to see you.

Last but not least, do you have a message for the readers, and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I want to thank Diesel & 10th Planet London, the MMA team and Muay-Thai team. Everyone here are my brothers. Big thanks to Excel strength and conditioning as well. I said this last year and I’ll say it again, you can run but you can’t hide, I am coming.”

Keep a watchful eye on future announcements from the Cage Warriors team. I have had the opportunity to catch Shirzad out there many times and have followed his journey from the start of his professional career. Cage Warriors have gained a force to be reckoned with in the Bantamweight division, no doubt about it.
