Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares tragically passed away

Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares tragically passed away at 29 years old on Monday after being hit by a bus on his way back from training in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to his coach Rodrigo Babi, Colares died before getting to the hospital. ARES Fighting Championship confirmed the news on their Instagram.

 

Colares, who was the former Jungle Fight featherweight champion, fought in the UFC between 2019 and 2022 and earned victories over Domingo Pilarte and Luke Sanders. However, after losing to Chris Gutierrez and Chase Hooper, he was released from the company.

 

Colares made his return to fighting in February 2022 under the Ares FC banner in Paris, France, eight months after the birth of his son Rhavi. In the fight, he submitted Alioune Nahaye to improve his MMA record to 11-4. The MMA community mourns the loss of Colares and offers their condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
