Having an international calendar is a necessary must if a promotion is looking to set itself apart in a unique way from the rest of the world. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a hound of the hunt ready to chase lightweights into deep depths as the UFC‘S latest acquisition. A professional mixed martial artist since April 2017 and representing K Warrior Dojo Tribe, Yanal Ashmoz holds an undefeated 7-0 record comprised of four knockouts, two submissions and one decision. Ashmoz fought for several organizations including Cage Fury Fighting Championships and PFL MMA prior to debuting with the UFC at UFC 286 in March 2023. He has finished six out of his seven victories over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter and is 1-0 under the UFC banner with one finish under his belt for the promotion. Ashmoz has gone to the scorecards once during his pro career sweeping it cleanly across the board on that occasion.
In his MMA debut at Desert Combat Challenge 9, he submitted Erik Sianov via rear-naked choke in the third round. Ashmoz also tapped out Yona Aurelie Kouhana in round two via rear-naked choke at KNO World Tour 1. Then at KNO World Tour 2, he knocked out Luiz Destri Abdala in the second round. Ashmoz knocked out Armando Gjeti in round two at Ring Of Combat 73. He defeated Ryan Rizco via technical knockout in the third round in his one and only appearance with Cage Fury Fighting Championships at CFFC 102. Ashmoz defeated Dennis Hughes jr via unanimous decision at PFL Challenger Series 5 to earn his first decision win as a professional.
In his debut outing with the UFC on the preliminary card of UFC 286, he knocked out Sam Patterson in the first round. The win earned Ashmoz the sixth knockout victory of his professional career in addition to his first win in the UFC. Ashmoz could very well be a fox in the henhouse at 155 pounds!
