MMA rivalries are much more than a war of words in printed press type. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to an atomic jackal ready to blast the opposition into the upper atmosphere as the newest addition to the UFC‘S flyweight ranks at 27 years young. A professional mixed martial artist since February 2016 and representing Wilkes MMA, Steve Erceg holds a 9-1 record in 10 contests comprised of six submissions, one knockout and two decisions. The majority of Erceg’s victories over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter have been inside the distance. Erceg has fought for numerous organizations in his home nation of Australia including Hex Fight Series and Eternal MMA. He has finished seven out of his nine wins during his time in the professional ranks. Erceg has gone to the scorecards twice during his pro career, sweeping them cleanly across the board on both occasions.
In his MMA debut, he tapped out Ryan Robertson in the second round. Erceg defeated Seung Guk Choi via unanimous decision at Hex Fight Series 15. Then at Eternal MMA 41, he submitted Mark Famillari in the first round via rear-naked choke. Erceg tapped out Tim Moore via arm-triangle choke in round three at Eternal MMA 45. He knocked out Paul Loga in the first round at Eternal MMA 46. Erceg submitted Shannon Ross in round one via rear-naked choke at Eternal MMA 52. He defeated Cory Haddon via unanimous decision at Eternal MMA 60 to earn his second decision win as a professional. Erceg defeated Loga for the second time at Eternal MMA 62 via submission in round one.
In the main event of Eternal MMA 73, he tapped out Soichiro Hirai via rear-naked choke in the first round. The win earned Erceg the seventh submission victory of his professional career. Erceg is a prospect whose finishing instincts have sent opponents into a continuous darkened vortex with a slim shot at the light!
