Tasked with obtaining a drug test, the tester, affiliated with Drug-Free Sports International, encountered Jones, who allegedly appeared heavily intoxicated and made threatening remarks, even seizing the tester’s phone at one point.

Formerly partnered with USADA, the UFC shifted to contracting with Drug-Free Sport International last year for its testing procedures. This incident, which occurred in late March, only came to light when the tester reported it to authorities near Jones’ residence.

Jones, no stranger to legal issues, has faced several legal battles in New Mexico, his home state of New York, and Nevada, where he frequently competes. A stalwart of the UFC, Jones reigns as a longtime champion, currently dominating the heavyweight division.

Scheduled to defend his heavyweight title later this year, Jones encountered a setback last year when he sustained an injury during training, forcing the cancellation of his anticipated bout against Stipe Miocic.

In the octagon, Jones’ prowess is undeniable, but outside of it, his encounters with the law often overshadow his accomplishments. As the investigation unfolds, the MMA world watches with bated breath, wondering what’s next for one of the sport’s most enigmatic figures.
