An Amateur mixed martial artist since July 2022 and representing The Combat Institute, Will Matier holds a 3-3 record in six outings comprised of two submissions and one decision. He has spent his whole career as an Amateur MMA fighter with Cage Warriors Academy Southeast. Matier has spent his entire Amateur career in the United Kingdom. Both of his finishes during his Amateur career have come within the second round. Matier’s one and only decision win in the Amateur ranks has resulted in a unanimous verdict. He is 3-3 under the Cage Warriors Academy Southeast banner with two finishes under his belt in his six overall appearances with the promotion.
At Cage Warriors Academy Southeast 31, he faced Esin Huseinov and submitted him via rear-naked choke in round two. Matier defeated Daniel Bradley at Cage Warriors Academy Southeast 32 via unanimous decision to lock up his lone decision win as an Amateur. Then at Cage Warriors Academy Southeast 34, he submitted Harris Kehlar in the second round via rear-naked choke. The victory earned Matier the second submission win of his Amateur career in addition to win number three under the Cage Warriors Academy Southeast banner. Matier also picked his third victory inside the Amateur ranks in the process. Matier’s ability to act quickly on the spur of impulse has him absorbing knowledge like a skilled professor of heart-pounding combat!
