There is considerable excitement surrounding the UFC 310 event, as UFC CEO Dana White has announced two spectacular title fights scheduled for December 14 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This event marks the culmination of the UFC pay-per-view calendar for 2024, and fans are eagerly anticipating high-stakes matchups that could potentially shift the landscape of the organisation.

In the main event, the reigning welterweight champion Belal Muhammad is set to defend his title for the first time against the unbeaten Shavkat Rakhmonov. Muhammad, 35, secured his position at the top of the welterweight division in July after defeating Leon Edwards by unanimous decision during their rematch at UFC 304. He currently boasts an impressive 12-fight unbeaten streak, demonstrating his skill and tenacity in the octagon.

Rakhmonov, who is 30 years old, has carved a name for himself with a perfect record and an unrivalled 100 percent finish rate. He has swiftly moved through the ranks, and this title shot represents a golden opportunity for him to claim championship glory.

The co-main event is equally intriguing as it features the flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja defending his title against former RIZIN champion Kai Asakura. Asakura, 30, will make his debut in the UFC in a historic title bout, which is not often the case for fighters entering the organisation. Having impressed in Japan’s Road FC and RIZIN—where he ended his tenure with a record of 21 wins and 4 losses—he is set to face Pantoja, who holds an impressive 28-5 MMA record and is aiming for his third successful title defence.

Pantoja has been on a roll since claiming the title in July 2023, with victories over both Brandon Royval and Steve Erceg via unanimous decision. He now carries a six-fight winning streak into this upcoming matchup, showcasing his ability to consistently perform at a high level.
