UFC Champion Dricus du Plessis has issued a scathing rebuke to Brendan Allen, following the latter’s disappointing defeat at UFC Seattle last weekend. Allen’s highly anticipated bout against Anthony Hernandez ultimately ended in defeat, with many pundits having tipped him to emerge victorious. Instead, he succumbed to a decision loss, prompting a period of introspection as he reassesses his future trajectory.

Prior to the fight, Allen had engaged in a verbal sparring match with UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis, levelling a barrage of insults in his direction. While Du Plessis typically remains impervious to such provocations, he couldn’t resist firing back at Allen during a recent social media exchange. From the champion’s perspective, Allen’s jibes had crossed a line, and he was determined to respond in kind.

In the aftermath of his defeat to Anthony Hernandez, Brendan Allen took to social media to express his disappointment, stating: “Just ain’t the guy I thought I was. Hat’s off to [Anthony Hernandez]. Who knows what’s next?”

Du Plessis, never one to shy away from a verbal sparring match, swiftly responded: “I don’t know what’s next either, but I can most certainly tell what ain’t next for a very long time.”

Allen, undeterred, shot back: “Always talk when I drop a decision. When I’m winning, you’re silent. We can’t all get the guys on the way out [shrugs].
