Securing the opportunity to fight for their first title at any level is considered a rite of passage for any MMA fighter, regardless of rank. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a buffalo of bruising weight and hulking torque ready to etch his hoofprint in gold at Light Heavyweight for Throne MMA at the Butler Machinery Arena in West Fargo North Dakota on May 10. An Amateur mixed martial artist since May 2024 and representing Academy of Combat Arts, Joseph Lord owns a 2-1 record consisting of one knockout and one decision. His one and only decision victory over the course of his Amateur journey has resulted in a unanimous verdict. Lord has spent his entire Amateur tenure with Throne MMA and is 2-1 under their banner. The lone finish during his Amateur career has come inside of a single round with a time of 56 seconds. Lord has spent his whole career as an Amateur mixed martial artist in the United States in his home state of North Dakota. Lord has one first-round finish under his belt through three appearances in the Amateur MMA ranks.
In his Amateur MMA debut, he faced Christopher Clark and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision to score his first decision victory as an Amateur. Lord defeated Herman Frisvold via technical knockout in round one. The victory earned Lord the first knockout win of his Amateur career in addition to his first finish under the Throne MMA banner. He also secured his second overall win inside the Amateur ranks in the process.
At Throne MMA on May 10 from the Butler Machinery Arena, Lord will rematch a familiar foe in Jessie Midas for the Throne MMA Light Heavyweight title and will be seeking to avenge the sole defeat of his Amateur career alongside a gold belt. Good luck Joseph!
