Conor McGregor recently hosted Tucker Carlson at his pub, The Black Forge Inn, on Tuesday night. Before that, they were seen walking around Dublin with local councillors Malachy Steenson and Philip Sutcliffe. The UFC icon shared on social media that the two would have a discussion, which later gained a lot of attention because it covered McGregor’s political plans.
Conor McGregor’s Political Aspirations Take Center Stage with Carlson
Conor McGregor is currently appealing a High Court ruling that accused him of rape in a Dublin hotel. Despite the legal battle, he invited the public to his pub on Monday evening through a post on Twitter.
He promised a “celebratory atmosphere” for an event with political commentator Tucker Carlson. Later, the 36-year-old extended the invitation again, stating, “God bless you, Ireland; I was put on this earth to serve and protect you.”
The timing of McGregor’s invitation seems to align with his growing political ambitions. His political journey took a major step forward during his St. Patrick’s Day visit to the White House. He used the opportunity to reinforce his plans to run in Ireland’s presidential election, focusing on bold issues that later sparked debates about his vision for the country.

However, after the two-hour conversation with Carlson, McGregor briefly spoke to the media. He described it as a “great chat” and shared the types of topics they discussed. As expected, most of them were political.
In the interview, McGregor talked about immigration, something he’s been talking about a lot recently. He supported Jim O’Callaghan, the Minister for Justice, for trying to send more people back to their home countries.
But McGregor also showed his worry about how many people are coming into Ireland without control, and the government not sending them back as they should. His views align with a broader debate in Ireland, where some perceive immigration concerns as “racist” or “far-right.”
McGregor Reacts to His Chat with Tucker Carlson
Speaking briefly to The Irish Times over loud music at the event, Conor McGregor highlighted the key themes of his discussion with Carlson. “We had a great chat with Tucker Carlson highlighting the issues Ireland is facing, Ireland’s plight, Ireland’s fight, and also Ireland’s delight,” he said.
Conor then emphasized a positive outlook, stating, “It’s not all doom and gloom, and we want to keep a positive outlook and move incrementally, step by step, to a better Ireland.”
He praised Carlson as a “great listening ear” and expressed hope that their conversation would resonate with the Irish public. “I spoke from my heart, and we’ll see how it goes,” he added, signaling his commitment to addressing Ireland’s challenges while fostering optimism.
