OKTAGON launches the first official MMA Fantasy League in Europe

OKTAGON is fulfilling the long-standing wishes of it’s fans by becoming the first European MMA organisation to launch an official MMA Fantasy League: OKTAGON FANTASY. The competition will bring a brand-new dimension of fun and engagement to the sport. Player registrations are now open at oktagonmma.com/en/fantasy/. Fighter drafts will take place on Wednesday, October 1, and the competition will run until the end of the year. The most successful players can look forward to winning valuable prizes.

OKTAGON FANTASY allows fans to select a trio of athletes before each event and predict the method of victory in one specific fight. Correct picks earn points, enabling participants to climb performance levels – from Novice all the way up to Champion. The league will be evaluated annually at the end of each year. The Fantasy League will be available in three language versions – Czech, English, and German.

OKTAGON FANTASY will officially launch on Wednesday, October 1, at 12pm BST/1pm CET/7am ET/4am PT. The fighter draft for OKTAGON 77 in Bratislava will close on Friday, October 3, at 12pm BST/1pm CET/7am ET/4am PT, with results announced on Sunday, October 5, at 1pm BST/2pm CET/8am ET/5am PT. The same timeline will apply to all subsequent events – fighter selection will be open Wednesday to Friday, with results published on Sunday.

“Fans have been asking for a fantasy league for years, and we knew that when we delivered it, it had to be big. We wanted something that excites both hardcore MMA fans and new followers. This is another example of how we don’t just want to keep up with the pace – we want to set it,” adds Ondřej Novotný, co-owner and promoter of OKTAGON.

An exciting addition will be an official Discord community managed by OKTAGON, where all interested players can join. The Discord group will be directly linked with the fantasy league – users will be assigned ranks according to their current level and will be able to join chat rooms with others of the same rank.

Fantasy competitions are a staple of the world’s largest sports leagues. Yet in Europe, MMA has never had an official fantasy league – until now. With this launch, OKTAGON is once again elevating the fan experience and confirming its ambition not only to stage top-tier live events but also to innovate in the digital sphere. This initiative is part of OKTAGON’s long-term strategy to build a strong international community and strengthen its position as Europe’s number one MMA organisation with global reach.
