Ultimate Fighting Championship announced on Wednesday another addition to its ever-growing card, a middleweight bout between UFC veteran Michael Bisping and Australia’s own Robert Whittaker.
Bisping has had a rough few years, yo-yoing between wins and losses over the past few years but has recently but together consecutive wins over C.B. Dollaway and Thales Leites. Semingly always in the middleweight title picture but never quite getting that win to earn him a shot at the belt, it could do do-or-die down under for ‘The Count’.
‘The Reaper’ is on a three fight win streak with all three being won in spectacular fashion., the most recent of which being a first-round demolition of Brad Tavares in May. While Whittaker has come impressive wins in his resume none quite reach the caliber of Bisping, a win over the Brit will truly cement his place as a middleweight contender.
UFC 193 will be held at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia and headlined by a welterweight championship clash between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit.
