Appearing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series is often step one for a shot at gracing the UFC roster with numerous alumni across the first three seasons of the show receiving short notice call ups. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a coastal blackbird looking to drape the lightweight division in a cloak of shame as he sets off on his debut voyage at UFC On ESPN Plus 32 on August 8. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2015 and representing Team Alpha Male, Alex Munoz owns an undefeated 6-0 record as a professional comprised of three decisions, two knockouts, and one submission. Munoz appeared on week six during the second season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018 and has gone on to finish three of his six victories so far in his tenure as a pro-MMA fighter with three of those wins going the distance. All three of Munoz’s finishes during his pro career have come within the opening round of the fight.

In his MMA debut at Xtreme Knockout 27, he defeated Sonnie Anzaldua via TKO in the first round. Munoz knocked out Jessie Moreno in round one at Xtreme Knockout 28. Then at CUFF 10, he submitted Richie Richardson via rear-naked choke in the first round to pick up his first and only submission win as a professional thus far. At Evolution Of Fighters 17 Munoz defeated Matheus Ubirajara via split decision. In the main headliner of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series week six of season two he defeated submission specialist Nick Newell via unanimous decision. At Trinity Kings 8 Munoz defeated another submission specialist in Troy Lamson via unanimous decision.

For his promotional debut with the UFC at UFC On ESPN Plus 32 on August 8, he will face Nasrat Haqparast in an encounter at lightweight. Good luck Alex!
