Boxing legend Amir Khan is an example for many young British-Pakistani fighters and Shoaib Yousaf is no different. So when the opportunity to train at Khan’s gym in Bolton, England, knocked, “The Assassin” wisely ran to the door and welcomed it with open arms.
Little did he know, the time spent at the Amir Khan Academy would coincide with the biggest fight of his life – a week from today Yousaf will appear in his first BRAVE Combat Federation main event, as he takes on Mochamed Machaev at BRAVE CF 40, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Aside from training with some of the top boxing trainers in the UK, Shoaib has been able to observe and take part in training with Amir Khan himself, which will increase his chances of getting his second BRAVE CF win, and potentially a title shot. The duo posed for a photo that could very well be captioned as the present and future of British-Pakistani combat sports.
Yousaf has one of the best resumes for a young fighter in MMA. Undefeated as an amateur and an IMMAF world champion, he’s been touted as one of the best-kept secrets in the European Featherweight division. Not anymore. After a stellar BRAVE CF debut, when he dismantled Hassan Talal at BRAVE CF 33, Shoaib has become one of the most sought after fighters in the division.
After signing a contract extension with the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world, “The Assassin” is hunting for a title shot and will count on the support of one of his biggest idols to emulate him and become a world champion in combat sports as well.
