Eldar Eldarov has been one of the stars of BRAVE Combat Federation since his promotional debut, which took place in September of 2016, during the organization’s first-ever show, and he will come back to action on BRAVE CF’s first visit to Russia. After over a year-long time off from fighting, the world champion will put his title on the line at BRAVE CF 46, taking place on January 16th, against a yet-to-be-named contender.

In the past four years, Eldarov has established himself as one of the most respected fighters on the roster and is now the Super Lightweight titleholder. After realizing a life-long ambition of becoming a world champion in mixed martial arts, Eldar has dedicated himself to the growth of KHK MMA and the Bahrain National Amateur team – he serves a head coach for both teams and has been instrumental in transforming the Kingdom of Bahrain into the number one nation on the IMMAF rankings.

BRAVE CF 46 will take place in Sochi, in co-promotion with Krepost Selection. The fight will mark the very first time the Super Lightweight belt will be defended by a champion. Eldar competed for most of his fighting career in the Lightweight division but jumped at the opportunity to compete at his natural weight-class since he feels too big for a Lightweight but also too small for Welterweight.

BRAVE CF is the only global promotion that has a Super Lightweight division, and the weight-class was created to welcome athletes that face the same predicament that Eldar faced before. It was designed also to make sure fighters have more options to compete at their optimal weight.

With an impressive 12-1 record, the 29-year-old has been a force to reckon with since he switched from wrestling and sambo and transitioned into mixed martial arts. His only loss was in 2009 against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

After a unanimous decision victory against Kevin Koldobsky at BRAVE CF 1, Eldar knocked out Henrique Gomes in his first main event, at BRAVE CF 6. A third win in the Lightweight division against Brian Hooi further propelled his name value in the promotion, which helped him secure a title shot in the newly formed Super Lightweight Division. He was declared champion at BRAVE CF 23 after an impressive showing in the title fight against Mounir Lazzez.

It remains to be seen who will be the challenger to Eldar’s throne but expectations are high for the announcement of his opponent. Further fighters and fights will also be announced soon as BRAVE CF gears up for a monumental beginning to 2021.
