A welterweight fight between surging contenders Vicente Luque and Michael Chiesa has been added to UFC 265 on August 8.

We have seen both fighters go on unbeaten streaks as of late, with Chiesa going 4-0 since his return to welterweight. Maverick has scored wins over the likes of former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos, former welterweight interim champ Carlos Condit, and top contender Neil Magny.

As for Vincente, he is riding a 3 fight win streak that has seen him finish all 3 opponents by either submission or TKO, those names include fan favourite Niko Price, Randy Brown, and most impressively former Welterweight king Tyron Woodley.

This fight has all the makings for an exciting fight as both competitors consistently look for the finish or are never part of a boring fight, they both possess an extremely high level of Jiu-Jitsu but their striking is what has made them into two of the most exciting fighters in their division.

This fight could potentially put the winner in a position to challenge for UFC gold, as the division is currently awaiting the championship matchup between the reigning defending champ Kamaru Usman and his bitter rival Colby Covington. A time, date and location have yet to be announced but rumours are swirling that the card could take place during a defence from the lioness Amanda Nunez.
