A changing of the guard is a sign of MMA role reversal. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a jade green anaconda ready to show the competition just how suffocating her squeeze can really be once she winds up taking a contest to the ground as one of LFA’S leading ladies at strawweight. A professional mixed martial artist since March 2021 and representing Cobrinha BJJ Academy Las Vegas, Giovanna Canuto owns an undefeated 2-0 professional record, with both of her victories as a pro-MMA fighter coming via submission. Canuto is currently 2-0 under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance, with two first-round finishes under her belt for the promotion. She has yet to make it past the opening round during her time in the professional MMA ranks thus far. Both of Canuto’s finishes during her pro career have come before the close of the opening round, within the span of fewer than five minutes.

In her professional MMA debut and promotional debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 103, she faced Amanda Lovato and went on to tap her out in the first round via armbar to secure her first win under the LFA banner. Then in her second appearance with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 113, Canuto submitted Kathy Solorzano via heel hook in the first round. The victory earned Canuto the second submission win of her professional career. She also picked up back-to-back victories under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance in the process along with her second straight first-round finish in a row. With a tapout rate of 100 percent and having the submission skills to help her the next household name in women’s MMA, Canuto is already showing that her venomous fangs pack enough of a squeeze to put foes into an eternal slumber from which they might never awaken!
