BRAVE Combat Federation hosted its debut event in Mauritius on Saturday, May 11 with BRAVE CF 82 taking place in St. Pierre and headlined by the historic Bantamweight title fight between Nkosi Ndebele and Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres. This was the first-ever trilogy in the company’s history as well as the first trilogy in MMA history with each fight taking place in a different continent. The historic aspect of the event did not go unnoticed by fans in and out of Mauritius as BRAVE CF 82 broke multiple records for the sport not just in Africa but worldwide.

With the event in Mauritius, BRAVE Combat Federation surpassed its record as the most-hosted MMA organization globally. Mauritius became the 31st nation to host a BRAVE CF event, a feat unmatched by any other MMA organization worldwide. This record is set to expand further with BRAVE CF 83 scheduled in the Netherlands on May 25, marking the 32nd nation to host a BRAVE CF event.

BRAVE CF 82 also achieved a record attendance with a packed crowd at Cote d’Or in Mauritius for the biggest attendance in a combat sports event to take place in the country.

Since its inception in 2016, BRAVE CF has been committed to transforming MMA in Africa. BRAVE CF 82 was the latest milestone in this journey, being the fourth event held in Africa by the most global MMA organization in the world. The commitment also extends to African fighters – with the debutants of BRAVE CF 82, the organization has now hosted 76 African fighters from 13 different African nations.

Before Mauritius, BRAVE CF had hosted events in South Africa and Morocco, and with this event, BRAVE CF became the first MMA organization to host events in South Africa, North Africa, and East Africa.

The fight night was headlined by Nkosi Ndebele successfully defending his Bantamweight belt against arch-rival Jose Torres. South Africa’s Ndebele is the first homemade champion in BRAVE CF history, having spent his entire professional career under the most global organization in MMA

This historic event sets the stage for BRAVE Combat Federation’s remaining events in 2024. Next on the agenda is BRAVE CF 83 in the Netherlands on May 25, followed by seven more events planned for the year, including debuts in Croatia and Bulgaria as part of the 2024 Europe Tour.
