UFC Ban JacksonWink Staff Member After Cyborg Comments

The UFC has taken prompt action against Mark Aragon, the JacksonWink photographer and social media staff member, after his derogatory comments regarding Cris Cyborg’s gender.

Aragon had posted “this dude is tough as hell” and “Holly was the first one to make his nose bleed.”

He later deleted and apologised to a point, referencing that he was annoyed as he overheard Cyborg and her team joking about Holm and calling her a ‘bitch’. JacksonWink also released a comment on Instagram saying the same but stopped short of an apology.

The UFC released the following statement:

UFC is aware and troubled with the recent statements made by a social media representative from the JacksonWink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico as it concerns women’s featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg,”

UFC does not condone or tolerate the remarks that were used. The organization has reached out to the JacksonWink team to inform them that the individual in question will not be granted access for future events”

Cyborg praised the UFC for taking prompt action, posting on her Twitter account,
