Lorenz Larkin gets off the mark in Bellator

Lorenz Larkin came to Bellator from the UFC with much fanfare, but entering Bellator 193, he was 0-2 in Bellator. Defeats to Douglas Lima and Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley, left Larkin under severe pressure to get back in the win column.

Larkin got the win by way of unanimous decision 29-28, 30-27, 30-27.

Larkin called out Daley for the rematch, but Daley has asked for his Bellator release, so unless Daley and Bellator MMA can resolve their differences, he might have a very long wait indeed.

Even if Bellator and Daley call a temporary halt to their issues, Bellator I feel are unlikely to match Larkin with someone as dangerous as Daley, if Daley is only around for 1 or 2 more fights. Bellator will have made a large investment in Larkin and they will want some kind of return on that investment, another loss to Daley and it will be hard for Larkin to recover, and Bellator will in all likelihood lose the man who beat Larkin twice, so lose for Bellator.

It certainly will be interesting to see what Larkin and indeed Bellator do next.
