Dominick Cruz injured, out of UFC 233 bout with John Lineker

Some things in life are certain, death, taxes, and Dominick Cruz getting injured.

According to a report from MMAbrasil.com.br, Cruz’s string of bad luck continued this week as he was forced to pull out of his UFC 233 bout with #6 ranked Bantamweight fighter John Lineker. Cruz hasn’t fought since UFC 207 on the 30th December 2016, when he lost the 135lb title to Cody Garbrandt via unanimous decision.

The UFC is supposedly already looking at Garbrandt as Cruz’s potential replacement for this fight. Cody himself is coming off two consecutive knockout losses courtesy of current Bantamweight King TJ Dillashaw. Although according to his team Cody is dealing with a hand injury and may be unavailable until March.

Although bolstered with solid fights for hardcore fans such as Robbie Lawler vs Ben Askren, Joseph Benavidez vs Deiveson Figueiredo, and James Vick vs Paul Felder. UFC 233 is lacking in star power and the UFC may have shot themselves in the foot by moving Dillashaw vs Cejudo to UFC’s ESPN debut in Brooklyn.
