Bellator returns to the 3Arena this weekend with the Ceremonial Weigh-ins for Bellator Dublin: McCourt vs. Ruis taking place on Friday evening, which are open to the public and free to attend.
The 3Arena will host the Ceremonial Weigh-ins, which will take place the evening before fight night on Friday, February 21, from 6pm – with doors opening at 5pm.
Ireland’s Leah McCourt headlines the event, and will weigh-in ahead of fight night alongside a host of Dublin’s hometown heroes, including Paul Redmond, Kiefer Crosbie and Richard Kiely. Also stepping on to the scales are the likes of former Bellator lightweight champ Brent Primus, Aaron Chalmers, Chris Bungard and Ricky Bandejas – who Irish fans will be familiar with after he knocked out James Gallagher in 2018.
Those looking to attend the Ceremonial Weigh-ins should arrive at the 3Arena from 5:00pm when doors open; fighters will then begin weighing-in from 6:00pm. Attendees do not need to book in advance.
Bellator Dublin: McCourt vs. Ruis will make history with the first female bout to headline a Bellator European Series card. Leah McCourt (3-1) will be hoping to make it a hattrick of wins inside the Bellator cage, taking on Germany’s Judith Ruis (6-4). The featherweight match-up promises to be the biggest fight of McCourt’s career so far.
Also on the main card, Ireland’s Charlie Ward (7-4) takes on U.S fighter Kyle Kurtz (10-7) in a fiery middleweight clash, as well as Newcastle’s Aaron Chalmers (5-1), who steps up for his first ever fight outside of the UK when he faces American Austin Clem (3-1) in a welterweight bout.
Elsewhere, Scottish fighter Chris Bungard (15-5) enters the cage to face former Bellator lightweight champion Brent Primus (9-1), cherished Dubliner Kiefer Crosbie (7-1) meets Iamik Furtado (6-1) from Portugal in a 160-lb. contract weight bout, a women’s flyweight clash sees Australian “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings (7-9) face Greece’s Elina Kallionidou (7-3), SBG’s Frans Mlambo (8-4) meets Ricky Bandejas (12-3) in a much anticipated bantamweight matchup and Swedish fighter Oliver “The Future” Enkamp (8-2) goes up against Wales’ Lewis “The Foot” Long (17-5) in an exciting welterweight bout.
