Across the Pond Profile: UFC fighter Irwin Rivera

In the UFC, becoming a household name overnight is a far from easy task to check off the goal list. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a stingray of sun and smoke ready to put an electric charge on UFC bantamweights at UFC On ESPN Plus 32 on August 8 as he hunts for his first taste of UFC glory at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2014 and representing Sanford MMA, Irwin Rivera owns a 9-5 record in 14 professional bouts comprised of five knockouts, three decisions, and one submission. Prior to debuting with the UFC at UFC On ESPN 8 in May 2020, Rivera fought for various promotions over the course of his MMA journey including Titan Fighting Championship and has finished six of his nine victories in his career thus far as a pro-MMA fighter.

In his MMA debut at Fight Time 21, he faced Andre Cuff and went on to defeat him via split decision. Rivera defeated his next two opponents via TKO in Chris Navarro and John Rivera. Then at Fight Time 25, he defeated Adi Alic via unanimous decision. Rivera tapped out Jose Ceja via rear-naked choke in the third round at Legacy FC 52 to earn his first and only submission victory in his pro career so far. At Combate Americas Combate Classico he defeated Chino Duran via unanimous decision. For his second outing with Titan Fighting Championship at Titan FC 53 Rivera defeated Lezar Stojadinovic via TKO in round one. He defeated Matt Wagy via TKO in the fourth round at Titan FC 55. in the main event of Titan FC 58 Rivera knocked out Danny Sabatello in round four to pick up his fifth knockout win as a professional.

At UFC On ESPN Plus 32 on August 8, he will face the debuting Ali Alqaisi in a battle at bantamweight. Good luck Irwin!
