Englands future in the UFC

If Bisping’s upcoming retirement left you thinking there’s not much hope left for England in the UFC, then think again. Jimi Manuwa, Darren Till, Arnold Allen and Danny Roberts are just 4 of a fair few people who could be hitting the headlines and becoming Englands next champion!

Jimi Manuwa is #4 Ranked in the light heavyweight division. He has Mike Tyson style punching power and has the tools in his arsenal to knockout anyone at 205 pounds making him a real threat. Since moving gym to Allstars Training centre in Sweden, Manuwa has earned 2 swift K.O victories, one over Ovince Saint-Preux who took Jon Jones to a judges decision, and the other victim to fall was Corey Anderson, a highly decorated wrestler that won Season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter. Since those amazing performances, Manuwa lost to Volkan Oezdemir who is next up to fight champion Daniel Cormier. But, Manuwa will be waiting, if Oezdemir for any reason is unable to fight DC then Jimi will be more than happy to take the opportunity to lay his ferocious fists on Cormier. Failing that, Jimi will wait for another opponent knowing that he’s only another highlight reel knockout from being back in title contention where he belongs.

Darren Till has recently exploded onto the scene. Undefeated in 17 professional fights, with 16 wins and 1 draw. Till is #7 ranked in the welterweight division after brutally beating Donald Cowboy Cerrone. Many thought it was too soon for Till to be fighting someone like Cerrone, but Darren silenced any doubters in one of the most one-sided fights I’ve ever witnessed, by knocking cowboy out cold in the first round! In his post-fight interview Till called out Mike Perry, who was cageside at the time, the pair had a brief exchange of words as the fight starts earning hype before its even booked! The greatest striker Liverpool has seen since Michael Owen is earning all the spotlight at the moment for all the right reasons. And I for one cannot wait to see him continue to improve and become the champion I know he can be.

Arnold Allen is a very exciting young prospect in the UFC’s Featherweight division. With 12 wins and only 1 defeat on his record, many people are excited to see what’s next for Allen. With A UFC Fight Night booked in London England, Arnold should expect a call with some fight news any day now. From a little seaside town in England called Felixstowe, Allen was able to dominate fellow exciting prospect Makwan Amirkhani. The people of Felixstowe must have been spitting their fish and chips out in the surprise of how easily Allen was able to utilize his game plan and earn the victory. Watch Arnold Allen closely, as you may just be watching the future champion of the featherweight division.

Danny Roberts is one of the most exciting prospects in English MMA. I cannot think of a boring fight that Roberts has been in. He will continue to grow and polish his skills on his journey to becoming an all-time great! For more information please check out this link. The first article I wrote which is all about Danny Hot Chocolate Roberts.

  25. Good to see Almighty getting a shout out. Feel like he is a quality English prospect who gets forgotten too often. Leon Edwards should be up there over Roberts too.

    1. Ryan Cambridge yea it’s a good read, keep up the good work! Look forward to the Diakese article. Hopefully bounce back from his loss! He doesn’t seem as hyped up on social media this time round think he learnt from his last one
