Just one day before tickets go on general sale, we have a main event confirmed for UFC London.
The headline bout will see veteran heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum face off with number 7 ranked heavyweight Alexander Volkov. UFC Europe annouced the news on their Twitter feed this afternoon.

Werdum will likely be hoping that a victory over Volkov will maintain his momentum toward the title shot he believes he deserves. His last two fights have ended with his hand raised as the winner with a quick submission victory over last second stand in Walt Harris and a decision win over Marcin Tybura. While there is no denying that toppling the 6’7″ Volkov would be an impressive feat, Werdum is still without a win against anyone currently in the top 5 since defeating Cain Velasquez in 2015.
Volkov is riding a 5 fight winning streak with victories over Stefan Struve and Roy Nelson in his last two fights. Should he emerge victorious against Werdum, it would catapult him into the top 5 and certainly put him in a position for a shot at the belt in the very near future.
