UFC record holder, entrepreneur, Chelsea FC owner?

Conor McGregor is an athlete that will always be remembered around the mixed martial arts world for his flamboyant and entertaining nature. Love him or hate him, there is no doubt he will always be one of the main talking points for many years to come. A UFC record holder, entrepreneur, mainstream media’s hottest talking point.

But could the “Notorious One” add to the list a title no-one could have ever seen coming, Chelsea FC’s new owner?

In a recent turn of events that has left many CFC fans and players alike heartbroken. Roman Abramovich has stepped down as owner of the West London giants and has put up for sale what he has built from the ground up since his takeover in 2003.

And in true “Notorious” fashion, the Irish Warrior has yet again made another controversial statement by throwing out into the world his desire and intent on taking control of current holders of the UEFA Champions League.

Where many would doubt Connor’s intentions and rubbish any claim that this is at all possible, should take a look at what he has achieved. In what will forever be remembered as one of the biggest success stories of the 21st century.

From being on benefits to becoming UFC’s first-ever double champ. To boxing Floyd Mayweather. Love him or hate him, every time Connor has set his sights on where most would doubt has come to fruition.

Understandably, this seems like an impossible feat, but a famous quote springs to mind of American Professional Basketball player Frank Gains. “Only those who can see the invisible can do the impossible.”

Will the Irish phenomenon be at the head seat of the Kings of Europe? Only time, unfortunately, will tell. I think many, including myself, will be watching to see how this pans out.
