One decision every UFC champ is thinking about – Part 2

Charles Oliveira: Who gets the next shot? It’s good to be the champ. Not only do you have what everyone wants, but you also get to sit back and watch everyone fight to get a shot at you. In Charles’s case, this is no different as he has several LWs who are watering at the mouth to fight him. Names like Gaethje, Poirier, Dariush and most of all Makhachev have a rightful claim to the title. But here comes Conor freaking McGregor, ready to cut in line and get a crack at Charles. The champ is no dummy tho as he understands that a potential Conor fight would garner millions for him.

Kamaru Usman: Canelo or continue being the most dominant WW of all time? Former TUF winner and current WW champ Kamaru Usman has been ruling the welterweight division in ways that only GSP and maybe Matt Hughes can relate. He’s outworked everyone that has stepped into the cage with him and has even developed a mean overhand right that put Masvidal to sleep. A lot of speculation and rumours have been floated that he wants to face Canelo, while this would command an insane purse, not many see this as the smartest idea considering Canelo is well…Canelo.

Israel Adesanya: Back to LHW? Israel is damn good that he’s facing an issue that only the GOATS seem to have, lack of options and already lapped the ones that looked like his biggest threat. Izzy is 2-0 against #1 ranked Whittaker, and #3 Vettori, he embarrassed Costa who is looking far from the contender he once was, and he beat Brunson who was recently KO’d by Izzy’s next contender in Cannonier. Should Izzy walk over Jared, he is left with only one option and that is to find retribution at 205, a fight between Izzy and possible future champ Jiri would be every striking fan’s dream.

Glover Teixeira: How much longer? 42-year-old LHW champion Glover has been around the block once or twice, he most recently won his world title in October of last year when he submitted the “legendary Polish power”. While his age has always been a point of contention for many, Glover has proven that he can keep up with anyone at any age. He faces yet another seemingly impossible task as he faces Jiri Prochazka, after this fight could we possibly see him step away or possibly continue fighting?

Francis Nganou: Legacy or $$? To quote The Clash “Should I stay or should I go?”. This seems to be the biggest dilemma the scariest man on the planet has faced in his whole career. The next move could make or break a legacy that he’s fought tooth and nail to create. Should he re-up with the UFC and possibly make less money contractually but keep building on the image of the baddest man with 4oz gloves? Or should he head to boxing and make a massive payday should he face Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder, this comes with its downfall as he could be embarrassed by a career boxer, or the new darkhorse in BKFC who is raising the funds to make a play should Francis hit free agency.
