EFC 99: BLADE WELCOMES THE WOLF

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – Another bout has been added to the already-stacked EFC 99 card. Following a superb first round knockout of Pietie Coxen at EFC 89, JT ‘Blade’ Botha sustained a training injury that unfortunately sidelined him for over a year, but the CIT athlete now returns to continue his momentum in the welterweight division against Khamzat ‘Borz’ Abaev. Born in the Chechen Republic from where he emigrated to Belgium as a youngster, ‘The Wolf’ began wrestling in primary school before taking up judo from which he transitioned into Muay Thai and various other standup arts. With both athletes having strong grappling pedigrees insured by proven knockout power, this bout is bound to be a war as Botha returns with a point to prove and Abaev hopes to make a truly explosive debut!

EFC 99 Kabesa vs Swanepoel for the EFC Featherweight Championship and Hwende vs Zulu for the EFC Bantamweight Championship presented by World Sports Betting, takes place on Thursday, 03 November 2022 live from the EFC Performance Institute in JHB, South Africa.
