Darren Till has shared his expectations for the upcoming showdown at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. Due to Paulo Costa’s unavailability, Khamzat Chimaev, with a flawless record of 12-0, will now take on short-notice replacement Kamaru Usman, a former UFC welterweight champion with a record of 20-3.
Till, who has a close friendship and training partnership with Chimaev, offered his insights on the fight. He believes Chimaev will have the upper hand and will dominate Usman in the Octagon.
The British fighter praised Usman’s courage but expressed his firm belief in Chimaev’s abilities, even though he acknowledged Usman’s status as a “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time). Till told The Schmo that Chimaev would overpower Usman, saying, “I think he’s going to ragdoll him. I do, sorry to say.”
For Usman, this bout serves as an opportunity to bounce back after two consecutive title losses to Leon Edwards. On the other hand, Chimaev is returning to the Octagon following his quick submission victory over Kevin Holland in September 2022. It’s worth noting that Chimaev’s last fight was at a catchweight of 180 pounds after he missed weight by nine pounds in his originally scheduled welterweight bout against Nate Diaz at UFC 279. With this unexpected matchup, fight fans are eagerly anticipating the action at UFC 294.
