Sean O’Malley questions Conor McGregor’s UFC Return!

Despite McGregor’s recently aired frustrations, UFC president Dana White revealed on Wednesday night that talks with Conor McGregor have taken place. 

“We talked tonight. I’m in Abu Dhabi, he’s in Dubai.

“We’re gonna figure something out. We’re talking.”

Current UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley spoke on the situation on his “TimboSugarShow” podcast.

“You know what’s crazy, is Conor is supposedly just begging for a fight. Give me a fight, let me fight daddy’…I wonder if he’s making so much money per fight that it’s really just not that beneficial to the UFC. Like they’re losing money when he fights.”

Despite seeing huge PPV cards in the last few years, It’s important to not forget that the UFC 229 Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor showdown in Las Vegas is still the biggest PPV event in UFC history. The spectacle featuring arguably the UFC’s most iconic rivalry sold 2,400,000 PPV Buys.

Most recently, McGregor was ringside for the Anthony Joshua v Otto Wallin “Day of Reckoning” card in Riyadh. 

In a ringside interview with Gareth Davies for TalkSport at the Joshua vs. Wallin, McGregor talked Manny Pacquiao and dissatisfaction with his current UFC situation:

“They’re talking Manny, I don’t give a… they’re talking Manny here in Saudi. The lads in the UFC aren’t really talking any!” 

Not to mention, Manny Pacquiao is also rumoured to be up for a clash against Britain’s youngest-ever boxing Olympic medalist & 2x World Boxing Champion Amir Khan.

“Give me something. I was supposed to be back in April. It was supposed to be December!”

Conor McGregor has not competed since breaking his tibia in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021

UFC fans around the world are hoping for an epic return for Conor McGregor at UFC 300 against Michael Chandler.
