The first three fights for UFC Glasgow on July 16th have been revealed.

The Daily Record carried an exclusive on the first three fights to be announced for the second UFC event in Glasgow with tickets going on sale in June.

Paul ‘Bearjew’ Craig (9-1) will make his highly anticipated return against  Khalil Rountree, an Ultimate Fighter finalist with a record of 6-2. Craig was excited ahead of his return after his loss to Tyson Pedro.

Speaking to the Record Craig was quoted as saying, “I have never fought in my home country as a professional so to be added to the card in Glasgow, 10 minutes away from my home is incredible.”

“Hearing the Scottish fans cheering for me as I walk out into the arena on July 16 will be spectacular.”

“I hope MMA in Scotland and across the UK continues to grow. The sport here is getting more and more exposure, and I want more athletes from Scotland to get the recognition they deserve.”

The Scot wasn’t the only fight announced, with Welshman Jack Marshman (21-6) also announced for the card in a middleweight fight against Canadian Ryan Janes (9-2). The middleweight division is a pretty stacked one, so they will both be looking to impress.

Paul Craig’s team mate Mark Godbeer will also be making a return to the Octagon, soon after his last victory. Godbeer who moved from England to join the Scottish Hit Squad team is set to take on Justin Willis (4-1) who will be making his UFC debut in Glasgow.

With UFC Glasgow 1 being such a massive success, the promotion are obviously keen to take advantage of the growth of MMA in Scotland. Adding Craig to the card is a sign that they have belief in the talent the country has generated – with some top quality fighters vying for a call up to the promotion.

We expect some more fights will be announced in due course.Who do you think should be on the card?

Tickets for UFC FIGHT NIGHT: GLASGOW go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 2.
