Joymo, the leading sports streaming platform, has entered a multi-year agreement with UK Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promoter, Caged Steel, to become the organisation’s exclusive live streaming provider.

Commencing with Caged Steel 28 on March 19, the new long-term partnership marks a watershed for the MMA promoter with the upcoming event its first to be broadcast live for a pay-per-view audience.

Caged Steel 28 features 14 bouts with professional and amateur MMA athletes from around the UK and across Europe battling to either defend or claim Caged Steel Championship belts or to increase their rank in the UK MMA scene.

The event will be accessible via the Caged Steel website, powered by Joymo’s dedicated direct-to-consumer OTT streaming platform, with live digital passes available to fight fans from £14.99.

Discussing the event, Dominic Gibbs, the owner of Caged Steel, said: “Caged Steel has built a reputation based on the high-quality production and fights offered to its fan base, striving to give a fantastic online and in-person experience. We have a highly engaged fanbase and Joymo enables us to deliver more content and more value to our loyal supporters.

“Additionally, live streaming our events provides more flexibility for fans who can’t attend in person but can now watch anytime, anywhere on a range of connected devices. Crucially, as we look to scale Caged Steel and offer bigger and better events, Joymo’s built-in micropayments facility allows us to monetise our content and realise our promotion’s full value across online audiences.”

Commenting on the partnership, Mike Emery, CEO of Joymo, said: “This is an exciting partnership for Joymo and one that sees us add another sport to our growing broadcast portfolio, which now extends to in excess of 25 across more than 20 markets.

“The growth in popularity in MMA in recent years has been meteoric and Caged Steel has built a fantastic event promotion. We are thrilled to be supporting them with the platform and technology to broadcast directly to their fans, enabling them to unlock

and realise the full value of their events and engage a broader audience who can now access anytime and anywhere thanks to Joymo.”

Founded in Norway in late-2017, Joymo enables rights holders to create their own IP by broadcasting their valuable content direct-to-consumers via Joymo’s OTT streaming platform, connecting their sport to a global audience.

In just over 25 years, MMA has grown into one of the most popular combat disciplines, and Caged Steel has become one of the largest promotions in the UK to showcase the sport. For more information on how to stream Caged Steel 28 live, please visit: caged-steel.co.uk.
