Ian McCall is on a 2 fight winning streak after defeating Brad Pickett in Dublin. In doing so, “Uncle Creepy” inched himself closer to a shot at the 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson. But he may need one more fight against fellow contender John Lineker.
But it likely won’t happen until the end of the year, as McCall will undergo surgery to repair another broken hand.
“Coming off the win in Dublin, Ian McCall needs hand surgery. But they’re leaning to Ian McCall against John Lineker, who wants the fight. This could be a number-one contender fight to see who faces Demetrious Johnson next, and could take place by the end of the year.”
Lineker got back to winning ways at last months UFC Fight Night 45 by knocking out Alpetekin Ozkilic late into the final round. The much-needed win came five months after “Hands of Stone” lost out on his chance to fight for the title after dropping a unanimous decision to Ali Bagautinov at UFC 169.
