Lone star of the Redwoods – featuring UFC fighters Tatiana Suarez and Montana De La Rosa

Over the years, many MMA prospects have gone on to have successful tenures with the UFC thanks to The Ultimate Fighter. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two TUF alums setting their respective divisions ablaze with their formidable ground attacks.

Tatiana Suarez – A professional since July 2014 and representing Millennia MMA, Tatiana Suarez owns a perfect 6-0 record comprised of three submissions, two decisions and one knockout. Suarez is currently 3-0 in the UFC and is The Ultimate Fighter season 23 winner at women’s strawweight. In her MMA debut at Gladiator Challenge Night of the Champions, she defeated Tyra Parker via unanimous decision. Suarez submitted Carolina Alvarez in the first round via armbar at Gladiator Challenge California State Championship Series. Then she defeated Arline Coban via TKO in the second round. In 2016, Suarez was selected to be a part of The Ultimate Fighter season 23 cast at women’s strawweight. For her elimination fight to get into the TUF house she defeated Chel-C Bailey via unanimous decision and was the number one selection of team Claudia. In episode two Suarez submitted JJ Aldrich via rear naked choke in the second round to advance to the semi-finals. In episode 12 she tapped out Kate Jackson in round one via guillotine choke to make to the finals. For her official UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter season 23 finale, Suarez submitted Amanda Bobby Cooper in the first round to become the TUF 23 winner. In her second UFC outing at UFN 120 she defeated Brazil’s Viviane Periera via unanimous decision. For her third UFC appearance, Suarez submitted Alexa Grasso in the co-main event of UFN 129 via rear naked choke in round one to earn her third straight UFC win and improved her unbeaten streak to six to begin her professional career. This California redwood without a doubt stands tall among the rest in her division!

Montana De La Rosa –A professional since September 2014 and representing Genesis Jiu-Jitsu, Montana De La Rosa owns an 8-4 record in 12 career bouts comprised of six submissions and two decisions. De La Rosa was a competitor on The Ultimate Fighter season 26 as a member of team Justin. At XFL Rumble on the Rocks 12 insanity, she submitted Colby Fletcher in round one via armbar. De La Rosa also tapped out her next three opponents which included wins over Francis Hernandez and Roxanne Ceasear. Then she defeated Mellony Geugjes via unanimous decision. De La Rosa also defeated Miki Rogers via unanimous decision. At XFN 342 Superfights, she submitted Katrina Lowe via armbar in round three. In 2017, De La Rosa was chosen to be a part of the TUF 26 cast and was the sixth selection of team Justin. In episode three, she submitted Ariel Beck in the first round to advance to the quarter-finals. In her UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter season, 26 finale De La Rosa submitted Christina Marks via armbar in round one. For her second outing with the UFC at the TUF 27 finale on July 6, she will face Rachael Ostovich in a women’s flyweight bout. Good luck Montana!
