Live event partnership for UFC and BBC announced

Starting in March of 2019, the BBC will begin a broadcast partnership with the UFC.

In a deal that will see BBC Sport Online, and BBC Radio 5 Sports Live Extra provide live commentary for a minimum of four live events, fans across the UK will now have increased access to the popular UFC.

The deal that kicks off at UFC 235 between Jon Jones and Anthony Smith, will also include the coming London Fight Night card, that features highly ranked British Welterweight Darren Till, in his match up with veteran George Masvidal.

David Shaw, UFC senior Vice President Said, “We have enjoyed numerous synergies throughout the years with the BBC and this deal represents another important strategic step forward in our partnership as we continue to collaboratively build the profile of the sport.”

With such high profile, mainstream media now taking interest in the sport of MMA, this would seem to be a very positive step forward for both fans and athletes alike.

Just like sky and Bellator? To only show British cards, BT and BBC are somewhat linked, so pointless imo, especially when you can watch it on your phone or where ever through bt app
