“What made the training camp with Josh materialise, I thought there was a rivalry, what happened?” – Sean
“After I won the Catch Wrestling World title the rivalry ended between Josh and I. It never should have happened in the first place – it was a serious lack of communication. Now he is a mentor and I couldn’t be happier about it.” – Curran
“So what were some of the biggest takeaways that you learned whilst training with Josh and do you think that he’s managed to grow to get to train with yourself?” – Sean
“Takeaway that I learned from him is that when things don’t go your way when you’re sparring in practice, you have to push through it and treat it like you’re in a fight. I think a lot of people get comfortable during training and that’s a mistake. He’s tough as nails.” – Curran
“Was there anything that you did that you think might’ve surprised Josh during rolling/sparring and was there anything he did that surprised you or do you feel like you both were aware of what to expect when it came to grappling with each other?” –Sean
“We showed each other a lot of respect. There was no ego during our training sessions. We just worked hard and pushed each other, it was awesome.” – Curran
“Would joint seminars on Catch wrestling between you and Josh be likely to happen in the future?” – Sean
“I haven’t discussed that with Josh but it is something that I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to. I think we would make people’s heads spin!” – Curran
“With your transition into MMA will you be looking to train more with Josh due to his extensive and legendary career in Mixed Martial Arts?” – Sean
“If Josh is willing, absolutely. I learned a lot from him in just a week, if I had more time with him my game would improve immensely.” – Curran
“Due to you coming from a D1 Wrestling background and Catch and Josh also being a BJJ Black belt was the clash in styles interesting and new experience?” – Sean
“It felt like I was back in the Wrestling room at Michigan State. Josh has his students focus on Wrestling fundamentals combined with his submission knowledge. It was a great experience, I can’t wait for the next opportunity!” – Curran
