What if Nick Diaz wins ?

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last 10 years, I’m pretty sure every one of you MMA fans will have heard the name Nick Diaz mentioned. Whether it be someone saying he has the best boxing in MMA, he got screwed in the Condit fight or because he’s a pot smoker who got punished by NSAC then given a title fight on his return to the UFC. Either way you look at it Nick Diaz is a hot topic and for the UFC he’s pretty big business. From an objective position Diaz is pretty much a love him or hate him type character. For every group of pro Diaz fans there are a slew of people discrediting him and his accomplishments in the sport of MMA (I fall somewhere in the middle on most things Diaz, but I’m a realist so lets stay objective for this article shall we) . Truth is he is on the verge of what may actually be the biggest fight of his long career. Topping the bill at UFC 183 against MMA legend Anderson Silva, who himself has been on the sidelines for a long time recovering from his well publicized broken leg against Chris Weidman. Coming into the fight Diaz has been inactive in MMA for 22 months, which in this sport is an extremely long time. The sport is constantly evolving and being inactive for so long may take its toll. Saying that one thing that’s never in question with Diaz is his conditioning, so although it’s a long time to be away from the sport I don’t see his cardio being an issue for him here.

Truth be told I think this is an extremely tough fight for Diaz to win. Honestly, I’m fully invested in Anderson Silva in this fight. I think he will be far too much for Diaz and I feel we may see another first this weekend as Rumble did to Gus last Saturday. Diaz will on the end of his first ever KO loss. Which leads me to a question that has been rattling around my head for a few weeks. But What If Nick Diaz Wins?

Well here are a few thoughts….
