On May 12, BAMMA will return to Birmingham, England with a title fight triple header. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet an explosive fighter looking to retain the BAMMA Lightweight crown and keep his unblemished record intact. A professional since February 2016 and representing The MMA Academy Liverpool, Tim Barnett owns a 4-0 record consisting of three knockouts and one submission.
In his MMA debut at ICE FC 11, Tim defeated Tyler Thomas via TKO in the first round. Then at Full Contact Contender 16 he submitted Tomasz Wojtyna via rear naked choke in round one. At Tanko FC 3, Tim defeated Onur Caglar via TKO in the first round. At BAMMA 28 Barnett stepped up on short notice to face Rhys McKee for the Lightweight title and defeated him via TKO late in round one. In his first title defense at BAMMA 29 on May 12, Barnett will face English submission specialist Mario Saeed 9-3 in a classic striker versus grappler match up. Good luck Tim!
