The first UKBJJA International Open Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament will take place on 16 December, 2018 at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell, Scotland.

The tournament features a minimum guaranteed prize fund of £20,000 with top prizes of £2000 going to the winners of the black belt divisions (male and female, adult and masters). There will also be guaranteed cash prizes for brown belts and ‘winner take all’ bounty prizes based on the number of entrants for blue and purple belts.

The tournament will be in the gi with a full range of divisions for male, female, junior, juvenile, adult and masters categories.

The tournament is destined to become an annual event, rotating through each of the UK home countries. Motherwell was chosen for its easy accessibility from other parts of the UK and abroad (via Glasgow and Edinburgh airports) and to boost BJJ in Scotland, giving Scottish athletes an opportunity to compete against top international competitors on their doorstep.

Registrations will be opening soon and will be announced on the UKBJJA website and social media.
