According to the Swedish MMA website Frontkick, Khamzat Chimaev vs Leon Edwards is off again.
UFC has yet to confirm the fight cancellation but according to Frontkick, it is Chimaev who is unable to fight.
The highly anticipated fight between number 3 ranked welterweight Edwards and top prospect Chimaev was initially booked for 19th December in Las Vegas but was cancelled after Edwards tested positive for COVID-19. The fight was rebooked for UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi on January 20th 2021.
It is currently unclear whether a replacement will be found for Edwards on 20th January or the fight will be re-booked for another date.
Khamzat Chimaev is in fact OFF the Jan 20th card.
Sources confirm @KChimaev will no longer be fighting against @Leon_edwardsmma on #UFCFightIsland8. Reason undisclosed.
At this point, it is unclear if the fight will get rebooked for a third time. pic.twitter.com/hReq4AEo8h
