Swedish MMA Federation Pull Out Of IMMAF World Youth Championship

The Swedish MMA federation have announced they will not be attending Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi this summer.

Below is a letter they sent to IMMAF board.

Dear IMMAF Board,

We, the board of the Swedish MMA Federation, write to inform you that we have made the decision to suspend the participation of Swedish athletes in the upcoming World Youth this summer. This decision is based on the lack of information provided regarding a safeguarding issue involving a national team coach.

Additionally, we would like to express our concerns regarding the lack of transparency in financial matters communicated by IMMAF Vice President George Sallfeldt. The Swedish MMA Federation firmly believes that all information pertaining to IMMAF‘s finances should
be disclosed to member federations for the sake of transparency and accountability.

Furthermore, we kindly request copies of all the letters from member federations that have reportedly requested an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) with the sole intention of removing George Sallfeldt and August Wallén from their positions. We bring these matters to your attention on behalf of the Swedish MMA Federation, and we trust that they will be addressed with the utmost seriousness and promptness.
Sincerely,
Madelein Fagerlind, Vice President
On behalf of the Swedish MMA Federation
