Conor McGregor And Justin Gaethje Shots Fired In A Fiery Exchange Of Words

In a fiery exchange of words, Conor McGregor and Justin Gaethje have engaged in a heated confrontation following Gaethje’s impressive head-kick knockout against Dustin Poirier, earning him the vacant BMF title at UFC 291. The MMA world was electrified by Gaethje’s highlight-reel finish, and ‘The Notorious’ was quick to call out ‘The Highlight’ on Twitter.

During the post-fight press conference, Gaethje addressed McGregor’s tweets and the possibility of a showdown between the two fighters. Gaethje claimed that McGregor has turned him down multiple times and suggested that typically, fighters have to lose before they get a chance to face the Irish superstar. Despite the callouts, Gaethje seemed more focused on pursuing the UFC lightweight title. He expressed his passion for big fights and exciting challenges, but he was adamant about not wanting to fight someone who may be using steroids. Gaethje emphasized that he has never taken steroids and doesn’t want to compete against cheaters.

Meanwhile, McGregor, recovering from a severe leg injury he suffered in a fight against Poirier back in July 2021, is looking to make his triumphant return to the Octagon. He has been linked to a bout against Michael Chandler, following his role as a coach in The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. However, Gaethje’s incredible performance against Poirier has caught McGregor’s attention, and he expressed interest in a potential clash with ‘The Highlight.’

In a now-deleted tweet, McGregor claimed to be the real BMF and insinuated that Gaethje can fight for meager earnings while he, as ‘The Notorious,’ is in the game to call the shots and launch attacks. Nonetheless, before any fight materializes, McGregor needs approval from the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Currently, he is not part of the drug-testing pool, which renders him ineligible for Octagon action. McGregor hopes to secure an exemption to bypass the mandatory six months of random testing.

As Gaethje’s stock continues to rise with his BMF title win, the prospect of a showdown between him and McGregor is undoubtedly an enticing one for fans. However, Gaethje seems focused on his path towards the UFC lightweight title, while McGregor must navigate the hurdles with USADA before any potential blockbuster fight can take place. The MMA community eagerly awaits the developments and announcements from both fighters as they carve their paths in the highly competitive world of mixed martial arts.
