Introduction
Zen Combat School is a family-run martial arts center in the heart of a beautiful maritime town in North Devon.
The small town of Bideford isn’t where you’d typically find a gem like Zen Combat, but owner and coach Jason Ashton has made it the number one place to train in the area, and it is well worth the visit if you’re passing by.

Jason has a long and dedicated history of martial arts, having taught kickboxing in the area for several years.
Starting as part of smaller clubs, he has now opened a fully functional center that boasts a 15ft MMA Cage, 14ft Boxing Ring, 16ft Pro-Wrestling Ring, a 12 x 10m large matted area, and a dedicated bag area.
The gym also has additional facilities such as toilets and a car park.
Classes
Thanks to Jason’s knowledge of many different disciplines, along with additional coaches such as former UFC fighter Nick Osipczak, Zen Combat has a full weekly schedule of classes.

Coaches
Zen Combat’s coaches have helped form the gym into an accepting, welcoming, and hard-working club.
Jason is the head coach at the center, he is trained in Kickboxing, K1, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Weapons training and is a Level 4 Sports Therapist.
The gym also has the luxury of having an ex-UFC fighter as their head MMA coach. Nick Osipczak (6-3) has a wealth of knowledge that he has developed through his dedication and love for the sport.
